Has anyone worked as or hired an RA? [on hold]

Has anyone here worked as an RA (research assistant) while getting a
Computer Science (or relevant field) master's degree? Has anyone hired an
RA or someone who was doing an assistantship? Just wondering what the view
is in industry, of course I'm aware the mileage varies on this one.
